The Genoa Robot Status
Genova June 13 2003

  •  The robot has been equipped with
    •  two length gauges  (1µm) for:
      • improving the accuracy on the origin of the charriot movement;
      • measuring the transverse displacements of the charriot;
    • An optical system for visual inspection of the position of the module has been bought
  • Vacuum Chuck: after some experience with the CPPM vaccum chuck ( with this device the module was kept by vacuum with a force of 25g applied on the module border, the same measurement on a glass piece is 70g)  we designed a chuck compatible with Module 4 and Module 5 and with enough room for the pigtail in order to minimize the repulsive force; the chuck will be checked on the next week;
  • Cradle:  the actual bar shows a sagitta smaller than 100µm without any constraints and around 30µm when mounted on the robot charriot.  A new drawing for having support and protection  of pigtails is ready:
