* electrolitic currents
The JB is made
by two slightly different Titanium alloys:
BT-23 for the hemispheres and Ti 6 Al 4 grade 5 for the spacer. Possible
galvanic currents between the two alloys
can be created in the sea environment:
this test
describes the result obtained in the lab.
* corrosion
A small sample of Titanium grade 5 was merged
in sea water for a period of two months: this test
compare the material before and after immersion
*heat dissipation
The JB houses the main
26 KVoltAmpere transformer and some active components which produce ~ 1
KWatt of power. The test performed in our laboratory measures the
temperature inside the JB in different conditions and determines the configuration
where the heat dissipation is optimised.
