ELECTRONICS in ATLAS Pixel Production Database

The Electronics subsystem part identifier has the format (FE-I1 and FE-I2):

2021 1 wwww xx yy r

–   subsystem code
wwww –     wafer number
xx  -    x-coordinate of the wafer substructure
yy     –     y-coordinate of the wafer substructure
r       –     reticle substructure number from the list, depends on the wafer map.

See Wafer and reticle schemes at the end of the page.

We do not keep track of the x and y coordinates for opto chips (DORIC and VDC), only

prefix containing wafer number (2021 1 wwww) is meaningful for each opto chip. The

part xx yy r is being used only to register the right number of opto chips with different

serial numbers for each wafer.

We have opto electronics components starting from number  2021 1 9000 00 00 0.

Java applications

To upload Electronics Wafer Items(all the substructures) please get applications-E-Items-PDB.zip

and unzip it (the file has the subdirectory structure). The files you need are:

ELECTRONICWAFER.jar - to be added to the CLASSPATH environment variable.

Here is the example for Windows Autoexec.bat file (java-related lines):

set PATH=%PATH%;C:\jdk1.2.2\bin
                setCLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\PixelPDB\classes111.zip;C:\PixelPDB\ELECTRONICWAFER.jar;.

FE-I1:

an input file example EWaferData.txt

UploadEWaferData.BAT to run the application

FE-I2:

for FE wafer: UploadFEI2WaferData.BAT + input file example FEI2-Wafer.txt

for MCC wafer (MCC + Opto chips):

UploadMCCI2WaferData.BAT + input file example MCCI2-Wafer.txt

DO NOT FORGET to change the attribute PASSED to YES for good Items (by default it is set to NO).

By default all FE chips and MCCs are "red" (see next 2 sections).

To update Electronics Wafer FE-chip "colours":

please take from archive applications-E-Items-PDB.zip the following files:

ELECTRONICWAFER.jar

to be added to CLASSPATH environment variable.

FE-I1

UpdateFEStatus.BAT  file to be used to run the application

FE-COLOURS.txt   input file example,
R="red", Y="yellow", G="green", T - transparent, means, that chip current

"colour" must not be changed.

FE-I2

UpdateFE2Status.BATfile to be used to run the application

FEI2-COLOURS.txtinput file example,
R="red", Y="yellow", G="green", T - transparent, means, that chip current

colour" must not be changed.

To update MCC "colours":

please take from archive applications-E-Items-PDB.zip the following files:

ELECTRONICWAFER.jar
to be added to CLASSPATH environment variable.

MCC-I1

UpdateMCCStatus.BAT  file to be used to run the application

MCC-COLOURS.txt      input file example,
R="red", Y="yellow", G="green".

The file MCC-COLOURS.txt is a result of transformation of
Delta test result file to the MS Excel file and then to the text file.

The definition of colours is (according to the tests NOT PASSED):

MCC-I2not yet available…

Shipments of Electronics wafer (FE-I1 and FE-I2),
FEchips, MCCs, DORIC and VDC chips

please take from archive applications-SHIP-PDB.zip the following files:

SHIPMENTS.jar – java archive file to be added to CLASSPATH environment variable.

FE-I1 wafer:

SendElectronicsWafer.BAT to run the application

input file example: EL-I1-WAFSHIP.txt

FE-I2 wafer:

SendFEI2Wafer.BAT to run the application

input file example: FEI2-WAFSHIP.txt

SendMCCI2Wafer.BAT to run the application

input file example: MCCI2-WAFSHIP.txt

Separate FE-chips or MCCs (both FE-I1 and FE-I2, no difference):

SendElectronics.BAT to run the application

Input file examples: FE-CHIPS-SHIP.txt for FE-chips and MCC-CHIPS-SHIP.txt for MCCs.

The I2 MCC can be of “A”, “B”, “C” and “D” type.

The I1 MCC can be only of “C” type.

Separate DORIC and VDC chips (FE-I2):

SendOptoElectronics.BAT to run the application

Input file example: OPTO-CHIPS-SHIP.txt.

The meaningful part of the Opto chip serial number is the prefix, which contains wafer number (2021 1 wwww),

and the applications takes the required number of Items for shipment list from those belonging to the Sender.

The application prints a warning if the number of Items which belong to the Sender is less then required in the

input file.

Multiple Receive – to be used for Wafers only (and Opto chips)!

Usually Receiver must check received Items from the Shipment one by one in the Web window,
but for Wafer shipment this is not necessary, the Wafer components cannot be lost separately. J

This java application sets up the flag “RECEIVED”=YES for all the Items from the given Shipment.

MultiReceive.BAT to run the application

This application may be used for the receiving of Opto chips since they need not be checked one by one,

            only the total amount matters.

Re-Shipment or Shipment just Received Items – for shipments to AMS or IZM

This java application sends all the Items from the received shipment with the given number to the other
institute (usually to a manufacturer: IZM or AMS).

SendReceivedShip.BAT to run the application

input file example: SHIP-RECVD.txt

See General Help to learn more about java applications.
