OPTO ELECTRONICS in ATLAS Pixel Production Database

The Opto electronics is the part of the Electronics subsystem
,
the part identifier has the format:

2021 1 wwww xx yy r

1            – subsystem code
wwww         - wafer number
xx yy r      - suffix of the wafer substructure

See Wafer and reticle schemes at the end of the page.

We do not keep track of the x and y coordinates for opto chips (DORIC and VDC), only
prefix containing wafer number (2021 1 wwww) is meaningful for each opto chip. The
part xx yy r is being used only to register the right number of opto chips with different
serial numbers for each wafer.

We have opto electronics components starting from number  2021 1 9000 00 00 0.

OptoBoard Item part number
has the format:

2021 1 9000 0 x yyy , where

x           - 1 = B-layer,
            - 2  = left half,
            - 3 = right half,

yyy         - opto board number.

The OptoBoard assembly structure is:

OptoBoard
4 VDC chips
2 DORIC chips
2 VCSEL opto-packs
1 PIN opto-packs

VCSEL and PIN part number has the format:

2021 1 9000 1 x yyy , where

            x:         0 to 4 for VCSEL
            x:         5 to 9 for PIN
yyy:     is manufacturer production serial number.

Java applications

To upload Electronics Wafer Items(all the substructures) please get applications-E-Items-PDB.zip

and unzip it (the file has the subdirectory structure). The files you need are:

ELECTRONICWAFER.jar - to be added to the CLASSPATH environment variable.

Here is the example for Windows Autoexec.bat file (java-related lines):

set PATH=%PATH%;C:\jdk1.2.2\bin
                setCLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;C:\PixelPDB\classes111.zip;C:\PixelPDB\ELECTRONICWAFER.jar;.

UploadMCCI2WaferData.BAT + input file example MCCI2-Wafer.txt

DO NOT FORGET to change the attribute PASSED to YES for good Items (by default it is set to NO).

SHIPMENTS

please take from archive applications-SHIP-PDB.zip the following files:

SHIPMENTS.jar – java archive file to be added to CLASSPATH environment variable.

Separate DORIC and VDC chips (FE-I2):

SendOptoElectronics.BAT to run the application

Input file example: OPTO-CHIPS-SHIP.txt.

The meaningful part of the Opto chip serial number is the prefix, which contains wafer number (2021 1 wwww),

and the applications takes the required number of Items for shipment list from those belonging to the Sender.

The application prints a warning if the number of Items which belong to the Sender is less then required in the

input file.

Multiple Receive – to be used for Wafers only (and Opto chips)!

Usually Receiver must check received Items from the Shipment one by one in the Web window,
but for Wafer shipment this is not necessary, the Wafer components cannot be lost separately. J

This java application sets up the flag “RECEIVED”=YES for all the Items from the given Shipment.

MultiReceive.BAT to run the application

This application may be used for the receiving of Opto chips since they need not be checked one by one,

            only the total amount matters.

Re-Shipment or Shipment just Received Items – for shipments to AMS or IZM

This java application sends all the Items from the received shipment with the given number to the other
institute (usually to a manufacturer: IZM or AMS).

SendReceivedShip.BAT to run the application

input file example: SHIP-RECVD.txt

See General Help to learn more about java applications.

Wafer and reticle schemes

MCC-I2 wafer:

Reticle substructure numbers are:

12,34 for MCC,

56 are for DORIC and

78 are for VDC chip.
