COMPARISON OF THE 5C FIT METHOD
GENOVA VS SACLAY
- SACLAY: perform 601 5C fits for equally spaced M(ee)
values between 60 and 120 GeV; modify the fit chi**2 with the BW probability
density
- GENOVA: perform 32 fits in the same range with non
uniform spacing; multiply the fit prob by the prob that a random M(ee)
in a Higgs event is more far from the peak than the current one; this prob
is obtained from the MC M(ee) distribution at generator level
See figure for comparison of
analytical BW and mass spectrum from MC
There is no substantial difference in the results (see
plots ) except in the execution time of the analysis
job (a factor 5 or 6 more using the SACLAY method)
