Delphi is an experiment which derived its name from that of its detector
DEtector with
Lepton, Photon
and Hadron
Identification.
assembled for studying high energy electron-positron annihilations in
the big LEP
collider at CERN.
DELPHI is primarily concerned with precise measurements of electro-weak
parametes. The objectives are detailed checks on the Standard Model, the
search of new particles, and the study of heavy flavors and leptons.
Three other experiments are running on the same collider, sharing with
DELPHI
the same field of physical interest:
ALEPH,
L3 and
OPAL.
