If you would wish to become a collaborator in the Geant4 Low-Energy Electromagnetic Physics Working Group, and your Home Institute is not yet a member of the Geant4 Collaboration, please proceed as follows:
1) Contact informally either of the Working Group co-ordinators, Maria Grazia Pia or Petteri Nieminen, to describe your field, study topic, and the intended application of Geant4. Assuming a possibility for a visit to CERN, ESA-ESTEC or INFN Genova, a meeting can be considered to establish in more detail the interests and priorities both from your side, and from the Working Group point of view. Please consult the Geant4 Memorandum of Understanding for the overall structure and operation of the Geant4 Collaboration.
2) Assuming a mutual agreement on the benefits of the new potential activity, an official application letter should be sent to the Geant4 Collaboration Board chairman Dr. Richard Mount (SLAC, USA), to the address
Richard Mount
Stanford Linear Accelerator Center
2575 Sand Hill Road
Mail Stop 97
Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA
Fax +1 (650) 926 3329The letter should contain a brief description of your Home Institute and field of study, objectives in terms of foreseen Geant4 developments, a list of people, their proposed Working Group affiliations and their responsibilities with percentage of working time devoted to Geant4 (expressed in Contribution Units ranging up to one), and the timescale of your activity. An example template is included here. The application will subsequently be processed by the Geant4 Collaboration Board, and notification of the outcome be sent to you in due course.
If your Home Institute is already a member of the Geant4 Collaboration, please proceed as follows:
1) As above.
2) Assuming a mutual agreement on the benefits of the new potential activity, please contact your Technical Steering Board Representative, who is in charge of submitting your application to the Collaboration.
