The following table lists the default terminals used for burst handshake timing. There are two timing engines in NI 653X devices. Each timing engine is associated with PFI lines. The timing engine you use is determined by the digital lines you use. If the least significant port is port 0, NI-DAQmx picks Timing Engine 0. If the least significant port is port 2, NI-DAQmx picks Timing Engine 1.

The recommended sample clock terminal for burst handshake timing is PFI 4 (Timing Engine 0), PFI 5 (Timing Engine 1).
